过程: 用 MEK(甲乙酮,一种强溶剂)浸湿棉签。
In a certified coating shop, "quality" is not subjective. It is a defined, measurable, and verifiable set of data points. Our job as managers is to ensure these data points are captured and that they meet the required standards for every part that leaves our facility. We rely on standardized testing methods, most often published by ASTM International (American Society for Testing and Materials), to prove our coatings are applied correctly.
While Dry Film Thickness (DFT) is measured on 100% of parts, a representative sample of parts from a batch will undergo more rigorous, often destructive, testing:
1. Adhesion Testing (ASTM D3359 - Cross-Hatch):This is the most common and critical test. It answers the question: "Is the coating stuck to the part?"
The Process: We use a special utility knife with multiple blades to cut a grid (or "cross-hatch") pattern through the coating down to the metal substrate. A specific, high-tack tape (ASTM-compliant) is then firmly applied over the grid and ripped off rapidly.
The Result: We inspect the grid and the tape. A "5B" rating (the best) means 0% of the coating was removed. A "0B" rating (the worst) means more than 65% of the coating pulled off. For almost all industrial applications, a 4B or 5B rating is required. A failure here indicates a critical error in surface preparation.
2. Cure Testing (ASTM D5402 - MEK Rub Test):This test answers: "Was the coating cured properly?"
The Process: A cotton swab is saturated with MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone), a strong solvent. The technician rubs the swab back and forth over the coating surface with firm pressure for a set number (e.g., 50) of "double rubs."
The Result: We check the coating and the swab. If the coating is under-cured, the MEK will soften and dissolve it, and the swab will pick up the pigment. If the coating is fully cured, it is chemically resistant to the MEK, and the swab will remain clean.
3. Holiday (Pinhole) Testing:For chemical-resistant linings (PFA, FEP), this test answers: "Is the film continuous?"
The Process: We use a high-voltage "spark tester." A probe with a set voltage (e.g., 5,000 volts) is passed over 100% of the coated surface.
The Result: The coating itself is an insulator. If there is a microscopic pinhole (a "holiday") in the film, the electricity will arc from the probe through the pinhole to the grounded metal substrate, creating a visible spark and an audible alarm. The part is then marked for repair.
These tests, logged in a formal QC report, provide the objective evidence that we have successfully transformed a metal part into a high-performance, specification-compliant component.
